HIKING: Day hikes in the high berg are awesome, The Drakensberg World Heritage site offers fantastic walks anything from 1 hour to 12 hours for the more energetic.

MOUNTAIN BIKING: There are a few races in the area that are great to enter. For the casual rider the Broadmore Classic is a must this event has both intermediate distance and a classic ride that covers some spectacular scenery of the Drakensberg Giants castle .The most exciting and trying mountain bike race in Kwazulu Natal takes place on the Long weekend in April every year this is a must for the serious rider, 78 km in the Drakesberg Park at Giants castle .This is the Giant Challenge .

WATER SPORTS: River swimming is exciting, but wagon Drift Dam is one of the best water skiing dams in kwazulu Natal, as well as canoe safaris around the dam. These can be booked in advance and are really great fun. 

FISHING: Some of the most scenic Trout river frontage available in the Drakensberg Park (World Heritage site) are nearby in the Upper reaches of the Bushmans River. Carp, Yellow fish and Barble are also regularly caught in Wagon Drift Dam and lower reaches of the river before it joins the mighty Tugela river. (one of the biggest rivers on the Eastern Seaboard of South Africa)

HORSE TRAILS . Guided horse trails can be arranged in the Weenen biosphere. This is a horse trail with a difference. Sitting on a horse among wild animals including Giraffe twice your height (maybe it is three times), is quite an experience. Watching the African landscape pass by from on top of sure-footed horse is difficult to describe, and well worth the experience.

DRAKENSBERG BOYS' CHOIR If the boys are not on holiday or touring, a public performance is held every Wednesday afternoon in the choir school auditorium, a Champagne Valley venue which boasts excellent acoustics. 

The Choir has achieved an international reputation for maintaining an exceptional musical standard, you will be delighted and refreshed after a varied programme of jazz, popular, religious, classical and folk music from Bach and Beethoven to Freddy Mercury and African Folk.

SELF-DRIVE TOURS. Many are available from historic battlefields to arts and crafts and cultural villages

GAME VIEWING. Rietvlei Farm is part of Lowlands Wildlife Reserve and offers visitors the opportunity to walk in the Reserve without scary animals, but for those who don't mind adrenaline then guided trails in the nearby Weenen Game Reserve is also available. Or take a Guided day trail with a local guide.

SHOPPING: Factory shops in Estcourt offer some interesting gifts and experiences. Glass blowing at Glamossa Glass Factory to cuddly soft toys made for the international market depicting most of Africa's favorite Wildlife Species and of course Teddy Bears of all shapes and sizes .The Midlands Meander is just a short drive away with a lot of interesting places to visit. GOLF: There are a few courses in the area the closest is Estcourt Golf course. Champagne Sports Resort offers a very up market course about 40 minutes away.
